In custom cloth slipcase; [Goodspeed, E.J.] The Great Fires in Chicago and the West...by A Chicago Clergyman. Chicago: Goodspeed, 1871. Original paper wrappers. Illustrated, including a fold-out map. Together with another copy, with the same date, but title page typeset differently. The original printed wrappers are soiled, and reattached to the spine with brown tape. This is likely an example of a Sickles forgery of Samuel L. Clemens/Mark Twain's signature, which is on the copyright page. Both items protected in a custom slipcase. See William L.
