ESTC; t123175; Herbert, A.S. Engl. Bible,; 1442. Known as the Macklin Bible, this Bible is illustrated with engraved plates reproducing the work of twenty-two artists; notably: Henry Fuseli, William Hamilton, Angelica Kauffman, Philip James de Loutherbourg, John Opie, Joshua Reynolds, Thomas Stothard, and Benjamin West; the principal artist was Loutherbourg. Many of the original paintings were done especially for this set. The plates were produced by nineteen engravers; notably: Francesco Bartolozzi, John Landseer, and William Sharp.
