To Charles Cyrus Hare, thanking him for his praise of Four Quartets, he states: "They give no less pleasure for being recognized by me as exaggerated, though, like Sherlock Holmes, I am ready to praise myself when I deserve it." With an original envelope, address docketed by Eliot, and signed.
