Both figures in good, stable condition. There are areas of crazing to the glaze of both figures throughout, consistent with age, as well as accumulations of dust and grime within the recesses. Neptune: There are two minor areas of paint loss to Neptune's robe. There is a small hole to the top of the dolphin's head which appears to be original. There is a split to one side of the table base that is approximately 5/8 inches in length. Examination under UV light reveals patches of retouch to Neptune's proper left back, proper left arm, and proper right fore-arm. There is a minor split between Neptune's back and the back of his billowing robe. There are areas of slight rubbing and dullness to the polychrome decoration consistent with age. Venus: There are two minor cracks to the edges of one of the table base's feet. There are two minuscule patches of surface loss to the dolphin's tail and several minuscule patches of surface loss to the glaze on her billowing robe. Examination under UV light reveals areas of retouch to the face and proper left side of Cupid's body, denoting a repair to Cupid's proper left arm. There is a split between the top of the dolphin's body and Venus's robe.
