one painted to depict a Qing Dynasty official sitting in a horseshoe back armchair, dressed in long black robes with a central square rank badge depicting a winged golden pheasant, wearing a red official's hat; the other depicting the seated official's wife dressed similarly, her hair combed into a bun and secured by hair ornaments, both figures with calm expression on the faces, ink and color on paper, framed.
