the robe worked in couched gold threads, satin and "Peking knot" stitches on the front and back depicting two forward-facing five-clawed dragons chasing the flaming pearls circled by floral sprays, clouds scrolls, shou character roundels, butterflies, and birds bearing flowers in their beaks, all above a pagoda emerging from lishui waves enclosed by two winged phoenixes, a pair of crouching dragons and two mythical beasts, the shoulders decorated similarly, all reserved on a red ground, having blue borders.
