This painting has been wax-relined. In natural light , the painting shows well and surface appears to have been stabilized with a nice layer of varnish and even craqulure. When examined under ultra-violet light, there are several small scattered spots of inpainting across the upper edge and few along the left edge (likely filling previous pigment loss due to frame rubbing). There is a small cluster of filled-in lines of pigment loss in the lower left corner. A second cluster of filled-in lines of pigment loss appear just below the girl's left shoulder.
