St. Louis Fall Auction

This painting shows well in natural light. The panel has a horizontal crack running the width of the panel in the lower portion of the composition. A wooden bar has been attached verso to stablize the panel. When examined under ultra violet light, the restoration for this horizontal crack is visible and has been inpainted. An expanded area of this line has been inpainted (measuing about 1cm) in the shadow to the left of the man's cuff on his raised leg. Additional small spots appear also in the crook of his right arm. The signature remains untouched, and overall the restoration appears to have been well-painted.
