Ring is a size 5.5. Sapphire Characteristics (graded in setting) The sapphire was removed from the setting and the table/crown was lightly repolished to remove scratches and abrasion. The four prongs of the setting were repaired to a minor degree to "build up" the metal and improve the security of the stone setting. The stone was weighed at approximately 11.48 carats and reset within the ring. The sapphire shows minor-moderate wear to the girdle edge and pavilion consisting of small chips and abrasion. The sapphire shows an eye visible central fingerprint (visible in the photo on black and the attached photograph). It is the opinion of the gemologist that sapphire in this ring exhibits internal characteristics consistent with those observed in natural sapphire that has not been enhanced with heat treatment.
