Estimate$5,000 – $7,000
Provenance:
Makler Gallery, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Acquired directly from the above by the present owner, 1978.
Property from a Private Pennsylvania Estate.
In overall very good condition, with vibrant colors throughout. Please note the work was not examined out of the frame, since all four edges of the sheet were visible through the glass. With uneven, irregular edges, likely due to the paper itself. The sheet appears to be hinged at all four corners, judging from the inprint of the paper hinges verso. Minor discoloration around the four outer edges, which might be the sign of a previous mat. The sheet stays flat. It is slightly toned, with evidence of handling and accumulated smudging along the extreme outer edges. The top right and bottom left corners are slightly beveled (rounded), but technically complete. However we notice a small paper loss at upper left corner. Another, smaller one along the top outer edge (pinpoint). The right outer edge is deckled. With evidence of scratching and hatching throughout the composition, which is due to the artist and his technique. Additional images available upon request.
Framed: 15 x 18 x 1 in.
