Note:
Built in Norfolk in 1817, the 74 Gun USS Delaware was launched in 1820. In 1833, the ship carried American minister to France Edward Livingston to the Court of St. Cloud to negotiate claims made by American maritime companies for losses incurred during the Napoleonic Wars. The ship was burned in the Norfolk Navy yard in 1861 to keep it out of Confederate hands.
