Overall stable and attractive condition. The drawers both open and close with ease. No key is present so the locks have not been tested. There are no indicators of old hardware sites so it seems that the handles are original, although they are attached with modern screws. Some of the continuous bronze mounts along the legs are loose or slightly lifting in some of their sections. The lacquer is in well-conserved condition, with a shiny appearance. Several tight age cracks on the proper right side and some craquelure on the proper left side, with one area of flaking lacquer. Several negligible areas of overpainted enhancement to the decoration. The enhancements are professional and consistent with the original decoration. There is a wood shim added to two corners of the top to stabilize the marble. The marble appears original and is free of restorations.
