solid and sturdy; refinished, the lid with some areas of streaky finish, but in general the walnut exhibits a nice wood grain to case; the lid molding with small repaired break to right-facing back corner; the lid with some age cracks; a repaired break to front and back of left-facing side base molding, and to front of right-facing side of base molding, as well as a couple repairs to front corner of base molding; repaired breaks to foot facings on front feet, and back right-facing foot facing missing bottom segment; back appears to be painted with subtle brown paint; right-facing drawer front is slightly loose from drawer sides; brasses are replaced; the lock is detached but present, and includes key; the hinges appear to be original; with minor scuffs or scrapes commensurate with age and use; interior bottom with some water stains and rings
