with nice figuring to wood grain; the inlaid designs in overall good condition, present well; the veneer with some occasional age cracks, particularly to backs of both, and with some occasional losses, especially along edges of top of case and underside edge of lid; one box with repaired veneer along upper back left corner; the hinges are possibly replaced, with evidence of plugged holes to both; with general loss to cockbeaded moldings to both; some of the interior compartment boards have come loose, and one box has a knife sitting at the bottom of case
