Very good condition. Some surface dust and minor scuffs from occasional handling. A few firing cracks to the underside of the base. Quite attractive in appearance. No damage or restorations observed (including inspection under UV light).

Note: Wedgwood later produced a candlestick adapted from this design, as illustrated in Grant's The Makers of Black Basaltes (plate XXVII, figure 2); however, the present lot does not appear to be a modified version of that candlestick. A pair of similar figures was just sold at Dreweatts, Newbury, England, in the auction Collecting Arcadia: The Collections from Gatewick and Trethill House, lot 479 (linked below).
