bearing the name A de Giovanni in gilt lettering and depicting two boxers facing each other, one wearing an American flag sash and the other wearing an Italian flag sash.
underside marked T&V Limoges France.
Height 3 1/2 inches.
Albert de Giovanni first fought on March 10, 1889, under the name "Kid Giovanni." The Daily News from Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania records that on March 19, 1912, at a boxing show, a "Kid Giovanni" of Girardville, Pennsylvania, "stepped to the front of the stage, and challenged Lightfoot Bender to fight any number of rounds from $100 to $500 a side."
