The sheet is affixed to the verso of the mat via old brown tape running along the top outer edge, meaning all three sides of the gouache are visible. In overall very good condition, with very vibrant coloring (a bit of charcoal mixed in with the yellows, it is not dirty). The sheet presents well, with even edges. Evidence of light traces of handling along the extreme edges (covered by the mat). The sheet is full, with the coloring extending to the extreme edges. With a minor wrinkle in the upper left corner (covered by the mat) and a small pinpoint abrasion at upper right corner (also covered). The verso is entirely scribbled by the artist's hand, in charcoal and pencil. It also bears the inscription 'l'oeuvre authentique *** Léger/W. Léger' at bottom right, with corresponding title, date and archive number to the left side of it. With minor brown residue in the bottom right quadrant (which don't peer through the sheet) and associated color and medium's stains along the edges (very contained).
