Moderate deposits of surface dirt and dust, with pinpoint instances of debris adhered to the varnish in areas; canvas is lined; network of craquelures throughout; one small protruding dent along the upper left edge, as well as one small protruding dent in the center right, accompanied by a small paint loss; instances of overcleaning scattered through the background, but does not affect the figure or face; small spots of inpainting visible under normal viewing conditions in the lower half of the canvas. Under UV light: the thick varnish layer prohibits a full reading of any past campaigns of restoration; however, thin strokes and dots of inpainting extend along the upper and left edges, as well as in the aforementioned spots in the lower half of the canvas; areas of overcleaning also fluoresce.
