Chairs in overall good, stable, ready-to-place condition. Upholstery is intact without rips, loses or significant staining. Scattered old scuffs, marks and scratches throughout consistent with age and use. Some areas of flaking and loss to painted decoration with exposed gesso and basewood, does not significantly detract from overall aesthetic unless viewed closely. The chair frames have been reblocked with one block having the pencil inscription 'Nov. 19, 1943' likely indicative of the date of restoration. A few scattered areas of overpainting, particularly above the pegs on seat frame. Two examples with a reattached element to front of proper right feet. One example with a small area of restoration to back of seat frame. Additional images available upon request.
