Estimate$1,500 – $2,500
The wood is walnut. Largely intact and original condition. Most elements of construction seeming original or showing significant age. One drawer front has a removed lock. Some of the rails supporting the drawers are 19th century replacements. Three of the four stretchers seem original, one might be a 19th century replacement. The turned legs seem to be original. The block bases of the legs are heavily insect eaten and deteriorated, but sturdy. The top separates from the base for transport and its weight is supported by four modern dowels which are inserted into the four corners of the base. The top seemingly original and very slightly warping, constructed of two boards which are now separating consistent with age. An older repaired age crack which has opened again. Table is sturdy.
