The large mirror is in sound structural condition retaining its original polychromed faux marble finish. The 26-pane mercury/silver-backed mirror glass panels present considerable patina overall and some areas of loss/flaking mostly near the pane joints. The mirror retains all but 2 of its gilt bronze rosette medallions. One glass pane retains a chip and another a 6 inch crack with the panels being in otherwise sound condition. The wooden frame presents mostly minor losses with one sizable giltwood trim portion at the upper-right corner which has not been retained. The polychromed wooden jardiniere which is intended to rest at the foot of the mirror is in overall very good condition displaying only very minor losses to its finish and retains its original painted tin insert. Please see condition photos.
The physical condition of lots in our auctions can vary due to age, normal wear and tear, previous damage, and restoration/repair. All lots are sold "AS IS," in the condition they are in at the time of the auction, and we and the seller make no representation or warranty and assume no liability of any kind as to a lot's condition. Condition reports prepared by Freeman's staff are provided as a convenience and may be requested from the Department prior to bidding.
