Mathew Brady, E. & H.T. Anthony. -- George D. Prentice, slaveholder, newspaper writer and editor, cofounder of the Louisville Journal. Prentice supported the Union in the 1850s, but he disagreed with many of its policies during the Civil War. He joined a group in 1861 that urged Kentucky not to secede from the Union but to establish itself as a neutral party in the war.
