Joe De Yong was a notable American artist, best known for his evocative depictions of rodeo and cowboy life, particularly his bronc rider paintings. Born in 1894 in Missouri, De Yong developed a passion for the culture of the West early in his life, influenced by the cowboy culture he observed all around him. He became a prominent figure in the Western art movement during the early to mid-20th century, gaining recognition for his ability to capture the dynamism and raw energy of rodeo events.
