Likely 19th century, not 20th century as originally catalogued. Overall fine and sturdy condition. The sculptures are quite heavy (roughly 90 lbs each) so they rest very stably atop a flat surface and do not wobble. While the pierced baskets are largely intact, both centerpieces have sections of their baskets broken off. Several of these detached sections are present and could be repaired with soldering, but there is one detached segment that's missing. It's possible similar repairs have already been done to the baskets, as there is faint evidence of soldering in a few areas. The baskets are also somewhat bent out of shape in a few spots. Otherwise attractive, with a slightly dull gilt finish and faint scuffs typical for age and use. One example has scattered drips of greenish oxidation. They appear to be an identical pair, although only one example has the THOMIRE A PARIS signature to its base.
