In overall fine and stable condition. Retaining an early surface with scattered areas of discoloration, though showing a mostly even color throughout. Appears to retain the original knee returns and brasses. Scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Age cracks visible to the sides of the case and the top. The top has previously been detached, but appears to be original to the case. The fan carved drawer shows a 4” patch to the upper molding of the drawer and the proper right short drawer has a 3” loss to the upper molding. The proper front right pad foot is previously cracked and reglued, while the rear foot on that side is previously patched, about 1 x 2 inches. The top, while previously secured using a series of dowel pegs on either side of the top/case, is now secured using three screws (modern, but early). The proper right drop finial plinth was previously cracked and reglued. Drop finials are replaced.
