Given to Frank (1872-1912) and Fannie Grady Golden (1875-1962) on the occasion of their wedding in 1907, Cincinnati, Ohio;
by descent to their daughter, Joan Golden Hazelton (1908-1993), Cincinnati, Ohio;
to her daughter Jane Hazelton (1933-2023), Cincinnati, Ohio.
Frank Golden was reportedly a very popular and well-known businessman in Cincinnati, listed in the U.S. Federal Census of 1900 as a saloon keeper. He was also involved in the management of the Stag, a gentlemen-only hotel, cafe, art gallery, and bar, frequented by many prominent Cincinnatians, including Mayor Julius Fleischmann. Golden later became the proprietor of the Walnut Theater Cafe.
In overall fine and stable condition. Retains a dark, rich surface and fairly even patina throughout. Scuffs, marks and scratches consistent with age and use. Age cracks visible to the top
