The cabinet presents well overall, is sturdy, and the finish/boulle is generally in good condition. We do not have a key to open the case. The gilt metal mounts are bright and firmly attached to the case. The lacquer on the left side of the case is crazed but appears stable, and the brass string inlay is lifting in two areas. There are a few small areas where the boulle lacquer is crazed or discolored but otherwise is generally in good condition. The stone top has break/fissure directly down the middle from which a portion has not been retained. The existing stone would be difficult to repair, therefore it would most likely be more cost-effective to cut a new top.
