Nickel plated example shows some flaking at the edges, pommel, and on the guard with scratches scattered overall. Throat is a brown patina. Guard is loose and wiggles in place. Grips show some cracking with scuffs, dents, erosion and wear. Leather scabbard displays some splitting seams with scuffs, abrasions, cracking, and dents. 1917 dated example displays oil residue overall with some mottling on the guard and pommel, some insertion wear on the blade, and some dents to the grips. Scabbard with some stains. Springfield Armory marked example displays edgewear with a brown patina forming overall, and pitting on the blade. Scabbard has some edgewear with brown patina over the throat.
