Silver gelatin photograph, 7 x 9 in. (sight), mounted in cardstock, 11.25 x 13.25 in. Signed in white ink near center, "Barry Photo," with blindstamp "Copyright by D.F. Barry" at lower left. A striking portrait of Sitting Bull printed at the turn of the twentieth century from a negative taken by D.F. Barry in Bismarck in the 1880s.
Overall very fine condition, with rich tones. Some light wear to the original cardstock mount. A loose spot between the paper mounts allows you to see the back of the photo to view Berry’s red and white paper label.
