Semi-weekly publication featuring news items of international, national, and regional significance, including Congressional proceedings and communications from the Virginia Legislature's House of Delegates. With inside page coverage of the ratification of the Convention for Indemnification (1802) between the United States and Spain, as well as reporting on the anticipated passage of a bill that would establish The Bank of Virginia in Richmond. Back page with advertisement for William Wirt's The Letters of a British Spy, a popular commentary on social mores that had been published serially in the Argus the previous year. Notably includes notice of a public slave auction, to be held at Williamsburg's famed Raleigh Tavern: "6 likely young Negroes, to the highest bidder, for case - to make a distribution between Thomas Cowles & Others. January 27th, 1802."
