First edition, second issue (with ads "5 G. 10.85" at rear; "Bamangwato" in line 14, p. 10; "to let twins live" in line 27, p. 122; "word" in line 29, p. 307). 8vo. 320, (16) (ads) pp. Illustrated with folding map, short tear along central fold at right, two repaired tears. Full red-orange calf, green and black morocco spine labels, stamped in gilt, a few small scratches to spine labels, front and rear joints lightly rubbed; all edges gilt; marbled endpapers; book-plate on front free endpaper (now loose); original red cloth covers bound in at rear.
