lot 4: stable and sturdy; exhibiting old black painted surface, but evidence of a couple campaigns of paint; the top with some scattered losses, to paint, some areas revealing a marbleized surface underneath; the top also with some scuffing and abrasions to edges; with long age crack that runs the length of table top; the top also with some pins that have popped above top surface; legs and stretchers with some occasional scuffing and scraping, and some occasional loss to paint; the feet each generally worn down slightly and with some surface from honest period use; inscription to underside of drawer written in ink or paint, and is probably 20th century
