This drawing was made on March 24, 1908, and provided Lyonel Feininger the basis for the figure on the right in the watercolor (Jesuits), 1908, and the paintings Jesuiten I (Jesuits I), 1908 (Moeller 037), Jesuiten II (Jesuits II), 1913 (Moeller 117), and Jesuiten III (Jesuits III), 1915 (Moeller 145).
