Housed in the original oak storage box, with inset pollard panel to top, with brass plaque engraved, “Lille Seeley Coler," the interior with brass plaque engraved, ”Tiffany & Co./ Silversmiths," with brass handles and pulls, with lift-lid top and three drawers, each revealing custom fitted compartments; including many pieces with gilt-washed bowls, all items marked, including “M” mark for Edward C. Moore (1873-1891); comprising a punch ladle, a jelly knife, a salad serving fork and spoon, two fish serving knives, a fish serving fork, an asparagus fork, a serving spoon, twelve butter pats, a tea strainer, a square footed dish, twelve pepper shakers, twelve salt cellars, a pie server, a berry spoon, a cake knife, a large master butter knife, a small master butter knife, a cheese knife, three cream ladles, a jelly spoon, two salt spoons, a preserve spoon, a mustard spoon, a pea server, a toast server, a sugar tongs, twelve large tablespoons, twelve smaller tablespoons, ten teaspoons, twelve coffee spoons, twelve ice cream spoons, twelve ice cream forks, twelve dinner forks, twelve luncheon forks, six fish forks, twelve oyster forks, twelve place forks, two carving forks, two carving knives, a carving stake, twelve dinner knives, twelve luncheon knives, twelve dessert knives, twelve butter spread knives, and twelve lobster picks; together with a grape scissors in a different pattern. Lillie Eliza Seeley Coler (1863-1948), was born in Newark Township, Essex, New Jersey, to parents Nathan Eugene Seely and Margaret Williams. She married William Nichols Coler II on February 11, 1887. Together they had four sons. Lillie died in Manhattan at the age of 84. The flatware service may have been been a wedding gift, as the set's possible production dates align with her marriage date.

lot 134: overall in a remarkable state of completion and preservation given the age; missing two teaspoons and six fish forks, along with a few serving pieces (based on empty custom fittings in box); the surfaces and details remain bright and crisp overall, with only light signs of wear and some minor tarnish commensurate with use, including some minor occasional pitting; the pieces with gilt-washed details retain the majority of the gilt wash, showing care taken with the set; some signs of tarnish and occasional spots of green oxidation, particularly to pieces susceptible- including bottoms of a few salt cellars, and edges / undersides of some pieces, some of the green evident appears to be surface film which can be removed; no visible engraved monograms, the only monogram is the custom stylized pierced negative “LSC” on the toast server (for Lillie Seeley Coler); the box showing signs of wear commensurate with use, including some scuffing along base and drawer fronts, and with one brass handle pull detached and missing, an area of water staining and rippling to veneer to lid
