Of disc form with flared rim, the neck with applied twisting dragon attacking a perched peacock, with flowering branches beneath, the body and neck painted with butterflies and insects, with two applied handles in the form of arched felines, on scrolled bracket base allover decorated with spirals and floral motifs, with enamel dial faintly inscribed, “J.E. Caldwell & Co./ Philadelphia,” the underside marked with five churches mark, “Zsolnay Pecs/ TJM,” and impressed numerals, “1110/ 13," the clock works marked, “Japy Frères & Cie/ Gde Med. D'Honneur.”

lot 117: rim with old restoration and overpainting evident under UV light, the rim also with chip and break / area of loss, one piece to break present in bag that accompanies lot; left-facing feline with loss / break to tail (pieces no longer present); old chipping to edge of front two feet and back right-facing foot, but most prominent to front right-facing foot; small chip to one front flower; clock face with some loss to inscription- the words somewhat obscured; includes winding key; as with all mechanical objects, Freeman's does not guarantee functionality for clocks
