Hockney’s collaboration with renowned master printer Kenneth Tyler resulted in a prolific partnership which gave birth to some of Hockney’s most celebrated works. Tyler had orchestrated some of the most notable artist-printer partnerships of the twentieth century. His revolutionary, rule-free approach attracted seminal figures in modern art, such as Roy Lichtenstein, Frank Stella, Helen Frankenthaler, Robert Rauschenberg, and, notably, David Hockney.

Engaging in all four of Tyler's workshops, Hockney enjoyed the diverse range of possibilities offered by painting, photography, and experimental lithography. His creative exploration with Tyler extended to the development of the ambitious Moving Focus series. By rejecting the confines of single-point perspective Hockney is able to embrace a visual composition that accommodates multiple viewpoints and plays with ideas of motion and time throughout the series. The venture as a whole delved into Hockney's persistent interest in image construction, spatial complexities, and the amalgamation of varied perspectives.
