Ori Gersht is a London-based Israeli artist who explores history and memory through visual explorations of historical places, in this case a bull pen in a bullfighting arena in Spain. Though an abstract composition, the wooden surfaces show the strain of the animals who were confined there. This powerful work is from a series the artist created while working on the film Matador.
