(viii), (168), pp. Illustrated with color frontispiece and 12 color plates, all tipped-in and all with captioned tissue guards, and numerous in-text black and white illustrations, mild dampstaining to top edge of brown paper under "La Tortue" color plate. Three-quarter yellow goatskin over green cloth-covered boards, some soiling, stamped in gilt, red and green morocco spine labels; top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed; old bookseller's ticket on rear paste-down; book-plate sellotaped to front free endpaper; scattered foxing, offsetting to tissue guards and pages opposite heavy brown paper, as usual.
