No place (but likely New York City), ca. 1924. Original pen, ink, and watercolor illustration on paper by Harrison Cady, signed at bottom right, with handwritten caption below mat, presumably in Cady's hand:
"Mr. Bug: Mercy! What’s the trouble, my good lady?
Mrs. Spider: Trouble! Why Everything is goin to ruin just because my husband has commenced spinning those crossword puzzles and won't do a stroke of work around the place."
Published in the December 25, 1924 issue of Life magazine with slightly altered text, 19 1/2 x 14 1/4 in. (495 x 362mm). Small 2 1/2 in. tear affecting caption under mat. In mat and frame, 26 3/4 x 21 1/4 in. (680 x 540 mm)
A charming illustration showcasing Harrison Cady's signature insect characters.
