The bowl by Peter L. Krider, Co., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, engraved to well, “Baptismal Gift to Daisy Emily Smith/ August 21st, 1878 from Aunt Daisy Grubb,” and engraved to exterior with monogram, "DSE," the neck engraved, "Mary Elizabeth Morris Rawle/ May 22, 1939," marked to underside; the stand by Gorham Mfg. Co., Providence, Rhode Island, 1897-1899, bearing engraved monogram to center, "DEBG," marked to underside.

Daisy Elizabeth Brooke Grubb (1850-1936) was the youngest daughter of Clement Brooke and Mary Ann Brooke Grubb of Lancaster. The wealthy Grubb family had extensive holdings in iron manufacturing. Daisy inherited the family's estate Mount Hope, now on the National Register of Historic Places, and left many family heirlooms to her namesake, Daisy Emily Smith (1878-1955) who married Willam Stuart Morris (1872-1955).
