The hood with plain molded top, paneled door with turned engaged columns, brass face with engraved angels and applied brass spandrels with putti supporting crowns, with one hand, inscribed, "Tho. Crow," the case with molded top and plain rectangular case door, molded base on shaped bracket feet, 30 hour.

The original owners of this clock were likely one of the following couples: Enoch Passmore (1735-1803) and wife Mary Laughlin (1731- 1813); Joseph Walter (1746-1812) and wife Elizabeth Levis (c. 1750-1790); John Scarlett (1737-1814) and wife Mary Dixon (1737-1803); John Marshall (1734-1827) and wife Suzanna Lamborn (1749-1839). All Quakers, the couples lived in Kennett or New Garden, Pennsylvania and belonged to Kennett Monthly Meeting, Chester County. The clock descended to Edwin Rogers Hill (1838-1908) and wife Elizabeth Walter Passmore (1844-1927), to their son, Edwin Rowland Hill (1880-1949) and wife Laura Irene Schofield (1884-1973), to daughter Elizabeth Passmore Hill Gaumer (1914-2004), to the present consignor.
