Artist Biography

Helen Bitar was born in Centralia, Washington in 1940. She earned a BA from the University of Washington in 1963. She was a longtime teacher at the University of Montana. Through the 1960s and 1970s, Bitar's work was widely exhibited and frequently feaured in Craft Horizons magazine.
