Note

A highly unusual example featuring a laurel top with free-edge front and overhang to both sides. The top has a rosewood butterfly that was added by George Nakashima to a crack which developed to the top shortly following completion of the cabinet. The interior is custom designed and fitted by Nakashima to house stereo equipment. The back is partially open.

This lot is sold together with a carbon copy of the original prepatory drawing by George Nakashima, carbon copies of letters of correspondence between the client and George Nakashima regarding the crack and subsequent butterfly repair, and the original invoice from George Nakashima Woodworker.
