Two Chinese carved jade pendants 玉佩两件 Late Qing to Republic period ?????

Of pale celadon tone, one depicting a lotus leaf with scrollwork, the other a pierced roundel with two long-tailed birds flanking a "Shou" character.

L: 2 1/2 in.; 2 1/4 in.

Madame Chiang Kai Shek

Gift from the above to Dr. Harry Talbot, her doctor and friend, in Hong Kong or Chongqing, circa 1939 to the early 1940s

Thence by descent

NOTE:

Dr. Talbot practiced in Hong Kong from 1933 to 1954, and wrote a book entitled “Hong Kong - China Connection, 1932-1946, An Autobiographical Sketch”
