The first, inscribed "Elizabeth Jones," "Samuel Jones" and "Martha Jones," worked with floral sprigs enclosing reserve with alphabet, religious verse, silk threads on linen ground basted to original backing paper; together with an Ackworth School-patterned sampler, silk threads on linen ground basted to original paper backing, with alphabet inscribed on verso.

Elizabeth Jones (1803-1843), the daughter of Samuel and Martha Jones, lived in Blockley Township (now defunct and incorporated into the City of Philadelphia in 1854) and attended the Radnor Monthly Meeting.
