Illustrated with "twenty original etchings, five photogravures and a new etched portrait", all printed in two states. Contemporary unsigned binding of full crimson levant, decorated in gilt, joints dry; red levant doublures with teal crushed levant onlay; moire silk endleaves; top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed.

This set, edited by Ingram, was first issued in London in 1884, in four volumes, by John C. Nimmo (BAL 16166).
