This open arm chair or a bergere a oreilles is a copy of a chair in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art (1929-81-2) attributed to Benjamin Randolph (1737-1791) and with carving attributed to John Pollard (1740-1787). The chair was purchased from the Howard Reifsnyder Sale, American Art Association, New York, April, 1929.
