A 14-Star American Flag 1876 to 1890

The glazed cotton stars hand-sewn in a wreath enclosing a single larger star, commonly called "Third Maryland Regiment" or "Cowpens" pattern on a fine wool bunting canton, fine wool bunting stripes, cotton header retaining fabric stamp.

Vermont entered the Union as the 14th state on March 4, 1791 under President Thomas Jefferson. This Flag may have been used in the 1876 Centennial celebrations or the Vermont Statehood Centennial celebration of 1891.
