With fan-carved drawers to upper and lower case, original hardware, accompanied by pair of silhouettes of Hannah Robbins (1750-1827) and Martin Kellogg (1746-1828) of Newington, Connecticut.

Paper label attached to central lower case drawer reads, "#10 Belden Highboy/ from Jemima Kellog/Hale/thru Mary Eliz./ Hale Belden./Wethersfield + Newington, CT." It is believed that Martin and Hannah Robbins Kellogg, who married in 1773, were the original owners of this high chest. Martin Kellogg fought in the Revolutionary War and was a distinguished citizen of Newington. He was responsible for the 1776 Census of Newington to raise funds under the direction of the Continental Congress.
