Each with silver sequins hand-sewn to patterned blue silk dress fabric canton, hand-sewn silk ribbon stripes with silk fringe at fly end, pocket with sticks, each bear stamp, "Mastai Collection" / "No. 188," mounted and framed.

6 in. x 9 1/4 in, (without fringe)

Literature

Boleslaw and Marie-Louise d'Otrange Mastai, The Stars and The Stripes: The American Flag as Art and as History from the Birth of the Republic to the Present (1973) pp 200-201. The Mastai's call these "Civil War flaglets."
